Finally — a crayon my toddler didn't break on day one.
My grandson is two and a half. He loves to color. He also has the grip strength of, well, a two-year-old.
Every set of crayons we've tried has ended the same way: a pile of broken pieces within the first few minutes. He'd get frustrated. We'd get frustrated. The crayons would end up in the trash.
Someone recommended these football-shaped crayons and I almost didn't believe it would make a difference.
But the shape actually matters. It's wider in the middle and tapered at both ends, which makes it much easier for small hands to hold without needing a precise grip. The moment he picked one up, he just started drawing without any awkward adjustment.
More importantly — he hasn't broken a single one. They feel solid in a way that regular crayons don't.
His preschool teacher actually asked what crayons we were using because she noticed his grip improving. She said these are good for fine motor development, which wasn't why I bought them, but I'm not complaining.
If you have a toddler who wants to color but keeps breaking everything, give these a try. The shape is not a gimmick. It genuinely works.
